Celebrations
To us, life is worth celebrating. We host birthday parties for our family members and holiday celebrations throughout the year. Christmas we bring both families together for a big brunch, Easter is brunch and an egg hunt for our niece and nephew (thankfully at 16 and 12 they have not yet outgrown it!), and an end of summer BBQ for both families for James’ birthday in August. For Halloween we go out to farmer’s market and pick out the perfect pumpkins to carve, we can’t wait to take a little one trick-or-treating!
Values and Beliefs
We value honesty, compassion, fairness, and life-long learning. We would like to encourage your child to question things, to wonder and to explore Your child would have the opportunity to join in fun lessons they are interested in like art, sports, swimming and music; but not be over scheduled to the point they don't have time to just ride their bike or play. We believe in positive discipline and logical consequences instead of punishment, and that life presents teachable moments.
We are not religious, but we are fortunate enough to live in a wonderfully diverse city and plan to teach about world religions, cultures and beliefs. Your child would have the complete freedom to make their own life choices, with every bit of support we can provide.
Adoption and Openness
We think it's important a child knows about their roots, from which they can grow. We hope that by talking early on about adoption it will naturally become part of their life story. We would want your child to feel they are free and safe to ask questions and talk about their adoption at any point their lives. Our desire is to have your child grow up with a sense of honour and respect for you, knowing that your decision was made with great love.
We believe that adoption ties all of our stories together through the shared love of a child. We want you to be a part of our lives in a way that you are comfortable with, be that letters, pictures, emailing, texting, or visits. We've been told we love to talk! We would love to get together with you to talk about what you would like openness to look like for all of us.
Thank you
We appreciate you taking the time to read about us and hope we've given you a peek into our life. We would love to meet you and talk about your wishes for your child. We want you to feel at peace with whatever decision you make, and know you will do what is best for you and your baby.
Thank you so much again!
